The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has officially issued a notice on strengthening the access management of electric tricycle production enterprises and products, requiring that from January 1, 2025, all electric tricycles produced and sold in China must implement the "one vehicle, one code" management system, that is, each vehicle must be sprayed with a unique QR code identification when leaving the factory, and consumers can scan the code to check the vehicle production enterprise, product model, certification information, and maintenance records.
The notice also requires that electric tricycle production enterprises must strictly follow the "Management Measures for the Access of Road Motor Vehicle Production Enterprises and Products" for production, and vehicle models that are not listed in the announcement catalog of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shall not be produced or sold. This policy aims to regulate industry development, improve product quality, and safeguard consumer rights.
